See Something, Say Something.

Here’s how.

The truth is, regular dermatologist visits aren't as frequent as they should be for many people. But what if the everyday touchpoints - your hair appointment, your manicure, your facial - could become opportunities for vigilance? The Closer Look Project exists to make that a reality. We train personal care professionals to be highly observant, recognizing subtle skin changes that might indicate a need for further medical evaluation. Our goal is simple: to leverage these frequent interactions to promote early detection of skin cancer, potentially saving lives through proactive awareness and referral, not diagnosis. Attached in this space, you will find media, contributions, and a survey tab. The media tab will highlight shoutouts, news coverage, and honorable mentions. The contributions tab will highlight articles and events by the project or by Caleb Runyon, NP-C. Finally, the survey tab will highlight a survey geared toward cosmetologists (hairdressers/barbers) that will be utilized for a publication known as a "needs assessment" to establish a need for continuing education in the personal care profession.
